Rodrick Pleasant, a junior at Gardena Serra High, swept the boys 100-meter and 200-meter titles in wind-aided performances of 10.30 seconds and 20.56 seconds at the CIF State Championships at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, Calif. Pleasant, who became the first Serra athlete to sweep both sprint crowns in the same year, also contributed to a runner-up effort in the 4x100-meter relay in 41.50 seconds to help the Cavaliers take third overall with 28 points.
